Merry Christmas to each and every one of you!

Let’s take a moment to reflect on Jesus being the reason for the Season, of course!

Isaiah prophesied in chapter 9 verse 6,

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”.

How exciting is this?! But not only was it prophesied, but the prophesy was fulfilled!  Luke chapter 2 speaks on the Birth of Jesus in verses 11-12,

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.

However, Jesus was born for a great purpose. To save. Save you and me from sin and death. To have everlasting life. Eternal Life.

For we all know, or have heard John 3:16,

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life“.

John 3 also concludes that “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light is come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God”.

Welp. Please do not ask me to dissect any of that, lol sigh. However, this is the Word of God and as culture would have it, a lot of us celebrate this season and/or benefit from it! So, the least we can do is acknowledge the One who is the reason for the season, and if we’re going to acknowledge Jesus, we must include the full context for his life. Not only was Jesus Christ born, but he died and rose again to save us. This was His sole purpose and I thank Him for giving us hope and a future. I pray that this post finds you in good spirits and I encourage you to move forward with a heart of gratitude today. In spite of what we may expect, or expected, let us be grateful in our reality. Let me start by saying that I’m just grateful to be alive and well today and able to write this post. I even encourage you to compact every negative thought with a positive one, even if it is a memory.

Be blessed,
