Do you answer every phone call or reply to every text message/social media notification?

This post is to help you self-evaluate where you stand with yourself and others. First and foremost, I like to think I can fix everything. Someone has pointed this trait out to me. Thanks, Taylor :). However, everything is not for Me to fix but to allow others to figure it out on their own. Good sound advice, based on scripture, along with prayer and resources are okay, but I can’t allow other people’s problems to become my own. Secondly, I want everyone to get along. I don’t like confrontation, and I truly believe that a lot of conflict can be resolved through effective communication. For it is said,

“It’s not what you say, but how you say it.”

                                                                – unknown

Yet too many times people just say whatever It is without any regards to their delivery. Or, better yet, people speak to people that they have no relationship with as if they are above them. It baffles me. How does a man, or woman, believe they are superior to another when we are all birthed the same and die alike? No matter our race, income, residence, status, etc. We must first have love.

For love forms relationships with the most unique people in the most unique way, under the most unique circumstances. — S.T.

Thirdly, I always wanted to say yes. Yet, I have learned that you have to say no more often, so that your yes is more meaningful for you and everyone else involved. Just think of the quality your yes will hold vs. the quantity of your yes(s) stretched thin. I’ll take quality vs. quantity any day.

So, what are some things you have realized about yourself? What can you do differently? What can you do better?

Well, I pray that you not only gain understanding, but wisdom as you move forward in setting boundaries. Always seek God’s Word on the matter and please be kind to yourself and others.

Scriptures for You

“If it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. – Romans 12:8

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” – Romans 12:9-10.

Sincerely,
