Scripture
“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”
– Luke 6:37
Devotional
Jesus teaches, “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” Forgiveness is a powerful act; it frees us from bitterness and resentment. A wise leader once said that forgiveness is not for the person who wronged us but for our own peace of mind. Holding on to unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to suffer.
Finding peace through forgiveness lifts the burdens we carry, both mentally and physically. When we choose to forgive, it’s like creating space in a crowded room, allowing us to become more productive and enjoy the blessings we receive. We are not entitled to these blessings; they are gifts from God, who forgives us our daily transgressions and reminds us to forgive those who have wronged us.
Take some time to reflect on the individuals you need to forgive and ask God for the strength to do so, just as He has forgiven you.
Prayer
Thank you, Father, for sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins and for the sins of the whole world. Help us not to burden ourselves with the wrongdoings of others that have impacted us negatively, knowing that You are in control over us and them. May we forgive as we have been forgiven, love as we are loved, and serve as Your Son exemplified as the ultimate servant leader. We pray all these things in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
You are blessed.
