Scripture
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?”
-Psalms 27:1
Devotional
With God as our light and salvation, we have nothing to fear. This verse reminds us that God is our protector and stronghold, giving us the confidence to face any situation without fear. Throughout the scriptures, He consistently reassures us that we do not need to fear anything.
In Philippians 4, we are told, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Similarly, in 1 Peter 5, we are reminded, “Cast all your anxiety upon Him, for He cares for you.” Returning to Psalm 27, David expresses, “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” So, no matter what is happening around you, focus on the promises of God to stay encouraged in Him rather than being influenced by the troubles of this world.
The question is, “Will you trust that the LORD is the stronghold of your life and wait on Him without fear?”
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being our light and salvation. Help us to live fearlessly, knowing that You are our protector and stronghold. We don’t have to live anxiously about anything. Instead, we can lean on Your Word, which will not return void but will accomplish what You have promised. We trust You and thank You, in Jesus’ mighty name, we humbly pray. Amen.
