Scripture

“Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.

Proverbs 17:28

Devotion

Sometimes, wisdom is found in silence. Knowing when to speak and when to listen is a mark of true discernment. Let us practice restraint and seek God’s guidance before we speak, allowing His wisdom to shape our words. A more practical way of doing this is to practice emotional intelligence. Learn how to manage our emotions, thus improving our relationships with others and ourselves.

What are some conversations where you need to listen more and process what was heard before responding?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, teach us the wisdom of silence. Help us to listen more and speak less, seeking Your guidance in all our conversations. May our words reflect Your wisdom and bring grace to those around us. Put a mirror around us to help us see ourselves more clearly and make the necessary changes to become better versions of ourselves. In Jesus’ name, we humbly pray, Amen.
