Scripture

“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”

-Matthew 10:26-28

Devotional

Jesus encourages us to speak boldly and fearlessly about the truth. We are to proclaim His message without fear of those who can harm the body, for our ultimate trust is in God, who holds our eternal destiny. Can we begin to walk boldly in the name of Jesus to save others who are lost? Doing so with love, patience, and without judgment. We should be mindful that actions speak louder than words, and we can share Christ without even saying His name in some instances. However, still being able to ask others if they know Jesus and understand the difference between not knowing God and choosing not to worship God.

Prayer

Jesus, give us the courage to speak Your truth boldly. Help us to trust in You and not fear those who can harm the body. Let our words and actions reflect Your love and truth so that others may be drawn to You. Let it not be by our will, but Your will, in Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
