Scripture
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
-Isaiah 41:10
Devotional
God’s promise to be with and strengthen us is a great source of comfort. We don’t need to fear or be dismayed because He is our God, helper, and sustainer. This is enough to press on and see what the end will be! Additionally, the LORD said He is our Redeemer (verse 14). Redeem means to recover, to become free from distress or harm, to make up for, to fulfill, or carry out. Therefore, the LORD is not only our Redeemer through Jesus Christ’s act of saving humanity from sin through His sacrifice so that we might be saved, but the Lord can redeem whatever we need today!
Let’s begin leaning into God and who He is, so that we can consistently be reminded of His continuous presence. This assurance should dispel any fear, knowing that we have a Helper, Protector, Redeemer, and so much more.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your promise to be with and strengthen us. Help us trust in Your presence and rely on Your strength. Uphold us with Your righteous right hand. May we continuously remind ourselves that You are a Redeemer. You can and will redeem the things that need to be redeemed and, most importantly, the people in our families and communities. We humbly pray for all of this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
