Scripture

“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?”

-Psalm 27:1

Many things are happening around us, in our communities, and worldwide. One person said, “The news is the same negative information, just different people.” That’s why this person doesn’t dwell on the news channels. Life is best lived in the present while preparing for the future. Are we enjoying the gift of today? Not focusing on wars, rumors of wars, or things that simply do not matter. Seek God in all things and acknowledge Him in all our ways; voting, driving, working, sending our children off to school, and being around others long enough to make a meaningful connection, just to name a few.

Today’s psalm reminds us that we have nothing to fear, with God as our light and salvation. He is our protector and stronghold, giving us confidence and security in every situation. Can we be like David and sacrifice with shouts of joy, sing, and make music to the LORD (27:6)?

Prayer

Lord, we thank You for being our light and salvation. We ask for the strength to trust in You completely and to live our lives without fear. Help us to remember that fear is not from You and that we are called to live boldly and courageously. May we find peace in Your promises and purpose for our lives, and may we trust You to guide us through every challenge. In Jesus’ name, we humbly pray, amen.

You are blessed!
