Scripture

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

– Galatians 2:20 (ESV)

This verse profoundly declares the transformative power of faith in Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul speaks of a radical change that takes place when we accept Christ into our lives. Being “crucified with Christ” means that our old self, with its sinful desires and selfish ambitions, is put to death. In its place, a new life emerges—one that is deeply intertwined with Christ.

Paul explains that it is no longer he who lives but Christ who lives in him. This means a complete surrender to Jesus, allowing Him to guide and direct every aspect of our lives. Our identity is now found in Christ, and our actions, thoughts, and desires are aligned with His will.

Can we respond by living a life of faith, relying on Christ’s strength and grace to navigate our challenges?

Can we embrace our new identity in Him and live out His love and grace?

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, acknowledging the incredible sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You for the new life we have in Him. Help us to fully understand what it means to be crucified with Christ and to live by faith in Him.

Lord, take control of our thoughts, actions, and desires and we surrender our lives to you. Let Christ live in us and through us, so that we may reflect His love and grace to those around us. Strengthen our faith and help us to trust in Your promises, even when we face difficulties and uncertainties.

May our lives be a testament to the transformative power of Your love. Guide us to live in a way that honors and brings glory to Your name. We humbly pray this in Jesus’ name.

Amen.
