It is easy to get caught up in negative thoughts that might come our way throughout the day or even in the morning. But how can we overcome all the dread and gloom? I believe seeking the Lord is the best way to do so. Reading God’s word helps me put things into a better perspective. It shows me that God is still good, and His mercy and grace are always sufficient.
While reading the Bible, I realized who God truly is beyond my limited understanding of Him. It also reminds me of how flawed we humans are, and despite our imperfections, God still loves us and wants the best for us. The prophets who wrote parts of the Bible were not perfect, but God’s grace is always sufficient, and even the most sinful person can repent of their sins, believe that Jesus died on the cross for them, and rose from the dead. By doing so, that person can have eternal life.
Scripture
John 3:16-18
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
Prayer
“Lord, may I always seek your face and follow your teachings regarding my lifestyle rather than blindly following societal and cultural norms. Please forgive me for my sins so that my words and thoughts are pleasing in your sight. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose on the third day and that anyone who believes in Him will have eternal life. I humbly pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
