What does Pivot mean?

Let’s define it.

The central point, pin, or shaft on which a mechanism turns or oscillates.

Completely changing the way in which one does something (Oxford languages).

To adapt or improve by adjusting or modifying.

A key player or position.

A person, thing, or factor having a major or central role, function, or effect.

What pivoting has taken place, or need to take place in our lives?

Some personal moments of pivoting are as followed,

1. Being okay with boundaries.

Set them, respect them, and be at peace with them. It protects me, my health, and sometimes the relationship. We cannot control others and vice versa, so the best thing we can do is learn to coexist together and set boundaries.

2. Waking up early each morning with purpose.

It’s a mindset. I now often think “in order to get different results, I have to do something different”. This applies to my home life, work life, my health, and my endeavors.

3. Being more committed to “my much”.

My much, being the tasks that I have been purposed to do and the individuals I have been blessed to do it with. Of course, my Spouse, children, family, friends, coworkers, church family…you get the point….are a part of those individuals, but I also want my encounter with complete strangers to be meaningful. This could be the cashier at the gas station, waiter or waitress, neighbors, and the list can keep going.
