- How are you?
- How has the last couple of weeks been for you?
Hopefully all is well and uneventful, but if it’s been eventful, let’s both take a deep breath and hopefully reset.
- What do you do when you feel overwhelmed?
- What do you do to stay grounded daily?
Scripture speaks on taking up our crosses daily but babbbby.
- How do you stay grounded, daily?
No …seriously I’m asking here, but since you cannot reply to me while I’m writing this post, feel free to comment down below! 😁😊
Here are some things that I like to do to win the battle in my mind and sometimes reality. The goal for me is to continue to be consistent following the necessary steps, no matter how big, or small.
1. Pray
Praying allows me to go to the one that is in control of all things. I recognize I can only control my actions, so this is why I give all my burdens to God. He says “come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28, NIV). I pray for a lot of things (and people), but peace and rest are at the top of that list.
2. Read God’s Word
God’s Word that is…Reading the Word of God, even if you don’t believe it to be true is still an historical book that doesn’t contradict itself even till this day. It is powerful. For the word of God is alive and active. “Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12, NIV)”. Periodt. The only way to utilize its power is to deposit it into our hearts and minds, so that when we wake each day, we can meditate on God’s Word and make it a part of our day-to-day activities.

3. Yoga
Yoga be yoga’ing. Smile. It brings me peace of mind as well as good health. I personally struggle with being still in the moment, so yoga is a great tool for me to stop every thought and just show up to the mat. My thoughts cease as I focus on the moment, stretch, and tone my body in the process.
4. Fasting
Whether it’s a few hours a day, few days, or few weeks, every part of you benefits from fasting.
It allows your body to reset, ridding itself of toxins, and restoring your immune system (the body’s ability to fight infection).
It builds discipline and demonstrates sacrificing physical food for spiritual food (being Jesus). For “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'” (Matthew 4:4).

5. Rest
Now resting don’t be resting sometimes, lol sigh. I am an early bird, so I’ve learned to go to bed at night. I go to sleep early and wake up early. I cherish a good night of sleep even though I wake up restless sometimes. However, if you wake up in the middle of the night, go into your prayer closet and pray. This may allow you to process your thoughts (giving your problems to God) and get some rest.
I hope this post has assisted you in finding a few positive outlets to deal with the battles we all face in this journey of life. It is my prayer that we can all do life together with God helping us to move forward.
Be blessed,
