Life’s not about waiting for the storm to pass..It’s about Learning To Dance In the Rain.” –Vivian Greene
As expected in the Mid South during this time of the year, it has been cloudy and rainy. There is something about rain that feels sad however sometimes okay and much needed. Nothing would live without rain. Everything would eventually die! So I personally appreciate rainy days just to enjoy the beautiful days that often follow.
I believe our personal rainy days make us appreciate our good days as well. I don’t enjoy being sad, upset, let down, grieving, or physically sick, to name a few rain drops (lol, sigh). However, I never want to rush, ignore, or be misguided because there is a lot I can learn from being in whatever downpour I’m experiencing.
A lot of wonderful foundations, organizations, and businesses, were the result of someones rainy day. A mom lost her daughter to a drunk driver and now there’s Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.). M.A.D.D. has paved way to stricter laws against drunk driving, supporting victims, and a goal to end driving with an impairment regardless of the drug (madd.org). I’m sure the founder would rather have her daughter instead, but how awesome is it that she’s saving others out of her experience and circumstances.
I pray we all find ways to be aware and process our rainy days. Speak life and take actions to move life forward with purpose because of the experience. Some experiences are self induced and some not so much. However, I pray we all come to a place in space that we strive to be our best selves regardless.
Questions To Consider
- How do you feel about rainy days?
- How do you process the rainy days in your life?
- Do you journal, talk to a counselor, workout, etc.?
- What other positive ways can you cope with rainy days?
Don’t forget to pray always. Seek God by reading His Word and having a personal relationship with Him. I truly believe that everything else will fall in line 🙂
Sincerely,
