Hello,
I pray this post finds you in
somewhat good spirits. If not, keep reading… May we give ourselves the space
for grace today and moving forward. It is not by our will, or might, but God’s
Will and Sovereignty that we have made it this far. Let’s be thankful for His
Grace and Mercy today. Grace that we do not have to work for and mercy that we
do not have to beg for.
So, what is Grace?
“Other than the short prayer of
thanks before eating a meal, grace is the free unmerited favor of God, as
manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.”
-Google English Dictionary, Oxford Languages
For me (as I can only speak for
myself, of course), I’ve been dealing with the concept of grace a lot lately. God’s
grace to not be okay, to not know what’s going to happen this week, to not have
it all together! Having space for grace with my children. The typical,
unwelcomed, unfriendly, woes of having a teenager, and the business that comes
with having two toddlers. So, I’m finding grace to just try and stick with the
schedule and not the routines that I have set as an expectation for my world. I
must say that I have found myself less frustrated and more productive.
Not only having grace for myself and
the kids, but for all others, including my spouse, my job, and other drivers! I always joke and say that I hope Jesus doesn’t come back while
I’m in traffic! I don’t
curse, or throw up gang signs, but I do talk crazy, lol sigh. Ok, focus.
May we be mindful that we don’t have
to meet the worlds standards, or even the standards we set for ourselves to have
things a certain way or else our day is ruined.
Be okay with changing our culture/conditions through one action at a time and keeping God at the forefront of all
things. We can only do this through prayer and reading God’s Word. Reevaluating
our lives and being willing to do something different for the betterment of
ourselves and others. I pray that we always keep others in mind when we go
about our daily lives. May we have space for grace as our gracious God keeps us each
day in spite of what we may face or facing.
Scriptures for Grace
- “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:8-10
- “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
- “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
- “He has saved us and called us to a holy life–not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,..” 2 Timothy 1:9
