“Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me”….that’s what they said.
I say “sticks and stones may never touch me, but my thoughts may kill me dead”!
Our Thoughts vs. God’s Thoughts Toward Us
Our thoughts can dictate our whole day. It doesn’t matter what others say about us, but what we say about ourselves. Most of the time, we can easily think negatively of ourselves. So, how do we establish a positive notion in this very important area of our lives?
Well, most importantly, by seeing who God says we are! He created us, so it’s only right to go back to the Creator to see what is to be said about the creation! No one can explain an iPhone like Apple. And if we tried to replicate the iPhone, we’d have to go to the source. Well, we are wonderfully made and way more valuable than any cell phone, by the way! I’m just saying. We are all uniquely made. Our bodies are unique, all the way to the cellular level. This is why we must be good stewards of it. We don’t haul off and drop iPhones recklessly or use them without a case (speaking for the majority/clumsy people here, like myself, lol). So why mistreat our own uniquely made bodies?
Ok. Focus. So who, or what, are you? Well, God says you are Amazing, Loved, Capable, Strong, Enough, Chosen, Victorious, Courageous, just to name a few! His Word is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12, NIV). Do you believe this? I pray that you will speak these affirmations EVERY morning and get rid of the thoughts that can cause us to feel dreadful and stagnant as the day passes by. Get up and do something productive. Be intentional with your time, your energy, your meals, and even your rest. Be the amazing person that God has called you to be!
