As the old folks say, “Any day above ground is a good day”!!! Can I get an Amen? Smile….

Well first and foremost, how are you? Me? I won’t complain, but let’s dive right in.

Keeping iT Together….What do I mean? How are you doing in the areas of your,

  1. Spirituality
  2. Mental Health
  3. Physical Health
  4. Finances
  5. Time
  6. Rest

How are you keeping it together spiritually? Scripture says to “Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you”(Matthew 6:33). I am a true believer that if you start on the right foot, with the Lord first, everything else has to fall in line.

You may be asking “how do I seek Him first?”.  For those of you who may feel as if you’re not good at this, or even know how, you can start by praying. Speak to God. Ask questions, but don’t question His Sovereignty. God has asked us is there anything too hard for Him!

I think we can all agree that there isn’t. Even when you feel like your loved one shouldn’t have died, God is still sovereign. Even when you think you deserved something you did not receive, remember God is still sovereign. And this list can go on and on, but you get the case and point. It’s not all about us, but the Lord. He exist to be worshipped, and you were created to worship. Ha, look at that! So, when you’re feeling like you’re just not keeping it together, I encourage you to take a deep breath and seek the lord in scripture and prayer. He will direct your paths. Don’t believe it? Just try it.

How are you keeping it together mentally and physically? Are you taking your medications as prescribed? Are you exercising? Drinking plenty of water? Working on communicating more effectively? Making a conscious decision to do something for yourself each day while keeping others in mind?

As I’ve mentioned recently, I like yoga and I’m participating in the 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene. It’s nice to just show up each day for myself and benefit from the stretches, poses, and breathing exercises. I didn’t join on the day it actually started, but I’m in the game coach! And I plan to finish strong. I have a daily routine that doesn’t always go as planned but, at least, I have something to keep me grounded. I start my morning off with exercise, devotion/bible reading, and my lovely cup of Coffee. Amen for Coffee! I have children and it can get crazy in my home, but the early mornings are part of my “me time”.

How are you keeping it together with your finances? This is a tough but yet simple one! It takes a lot of discipline (which is the tough part) and automating your savings/bills (the simple part). Albert Einstein stated “Compound Interest is the eighth wonder of the world…those who don’t understand it, pays it…but those that do, earn it”. I don’t know about you all, but I want to earn and save money vs. overspend and beg for what I need. It doesn’t typically matter how much you make, but how well you manage your money. We have to evaluate our spending habits. Money is a very neutral thing and it only makes us more of who we already are. So who are you? God doesn’t hate money. It’s the love of money that’s the problem. I pray you will start to see God as your Source and money as a resource.

How are you keeping it together with your time? How long do you stroll mindlessly on your phone, a game, online, etc.? Do you work everyday, only to end up in a early grave? I mean lets be honest and transparent. We have to make good use of our time. Money we can be remade, but time, you cannot get back. Find time to spend with your loved ones and to actually be present in the moment for whatever the moment is requiring of you. You got this. Disconnect from the tech world, after reading this blog post of course, lol.

How are you keeping it together with your rest? Do you have a bedtime? Do you turn off all the lights and put your phone on silent and place it out of your sight? Out of 24 hours in a day, surely you can get more than 3-5hrs of sleep a night? You say, “I’ll rest when I’m dead”, well cool. Do you boo? Smiling…As for me, I like to put the kids to sleep shortly after supper and a playing session. Then, I get ready for bed and I’m hopefully laying in bed soon after the kids. I give myself 30 mins to read before calling it a night all together.

Well that’s all I have for now. I pray this post found you in good spirits and only adds to the best version of you 🙂 Feel free to comment below and share your own routines and ways that you are keeping it together in the different areas I’ve mentioned above. I look forward to hearing from you.
