Give Thanks

So, what is everything? As defined by google, the 2 definitions of everything are

1. all things; all the things of a group or class. 

2. the current situation; life in general. 

So, what does first Thessalonians really want you to do? I believe that in every situation and/or circumstance that we face, we should find humility and gratitude. Because regardless of the situation and/or circumstances that we may have faced, facing, or will face, it’s simply part of life. 

The Word also states, “we make plans, but the Lord directs our paths”(Proverbs 16:9). Now, I don’t simply right off that our destiny is already predestined, or whatnot, but that we are given free will. Even though the Lord knows the decision we will make, we still have to make the decision.  Not confusing this with the things that we have no control over. However, you still choose how you will suffer. And the question is, will you suffer well? Will you continue to have a hope and keep living with a humble and grateful heart for those things that are well. Will you try and preserve others in your experience of hurt and pain?

I pray that you find peace, love, joy, and hope in everything regarding your life and the life of others. We only get one, so let’s live it well, regardless of the cards we’re dealt. And in Everything, Give Thanks.
