experiences with Him. Through our own lenses, we capture God’s grace, mercy,
and faithfulness toward us. What have you experienced that only God could have
done? What are you still waiting on for God to bring to past in your life?
For me, the goal was to finally have a successful pregnancy. After having a child before marriage at a young age, I was looking forward to starting a family with my husband, who did not have children. However, childbearing soon became a burden for me. I experienced multiple ectopic pregnancies, which occur when a pregnancy develops in the fallopian tube, and I even underwent a one-sided salpingo-oophorectomy, which is the surgical removal of an ovary and a fallopian tube.
Despite these challenges, I chose to keep believing that God would work things out for us. I was grateful to God for sparing my life after the emergency surgery related to my first pregnancy, and I continued to trust Him. I learned that God does not need our help to be God and that I simply needed to have faith.
Eventually, I got pregnant again, but I soon discovered there was no heartbeat, which meant I had miscarried. I cannot deny that I felt very numb and upset initially, but I couldn’t curse the One I trusted to deliver a miracle. So, what did I do? I picked myself up and proclaimed that I was going to LIVE. Afterward, I began reading spiritual books that helped me through this difficult time.

My faith was strengthened by using God’s Word in every aspect of my life. I gave my worries to God and continued to live, not focusing on trying to conceive children. Then, that was when it happened! Our rainbow baby! I kept the pregnancy to myself (just between me and God) for the first 2-3 months. Eventually, I told my husband, and we informed our family around the five-month mark.
“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”
-Luke 1:45
Once I started showing, COVID-19 emerged, which meant I remained at home from work as a nurse until July 2020. It was discouraging since we were looking forward to baby showers with family and friends. But God 😊… Everything turned out for our good. We held a virtual baby shower and received everything we needed for our son! It was as if God did exceedingly more than we could have asked, thought, or imagined. God moved the hearts of those around us, and He did just that! We are incredibly thankful to everyone who showered our son, Luke, with gifts.
Our hearts are full. I know we would have loved our first baby if everything had gone well, but now our hearts are transformed and overflowing with an indescribable love. This is my story of God’s faithfulness to me and my family. Through this journey, I have learned that I am not alone; many women and families have faced even more difficult challenges. Yet, God is still God, and we must choose to keep living despite our circumstances. Do not give your circumstances more credit than you give God for being able to work everything out.
So, what can you do while you wait, or if your wait is over (Glory to God)? I have learned to do the following:
- Remain hopeful – Keep believing that God can do whatever you desire. Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, even if God does not deliver you from it, know that He can.
- Remain grateful— Continue to thank God for what He has already done. As the saying goes, “If He doesn’t do anything else, He’s already done enough.”
- Intercede for others—Continue to stand in the gap for others in need of God’s help, whether it is for healing, strength, a breakthrough, and more.
- Preserve others—Preserve the well-being of others, as we all go through some form of hardship in life. You can use your own experiences to connect with those facing similar struggles. By offering them encouragement and hope, you can make a difference. For instance, if you’ve experienced a loss, you can relate to someone else going through a similar situation. When you choose to uplift yourself through faith and not let defeat take over, you can help the next person who is struggling.
- Be resilient— Move forward and acknowledge God for who He is. God deserves all the glory! Ultimately, it’s not about us but about glorifying God. Thankfully, He loves us and will meet us where we are, but it all centers on our Sovereign God and what He chooses to allow in our lives. Simply trust Him and keep living.
I hope this post encourages you to stay grounded in God’s Word and the promises He has for your life. May we all learn valuable lessons through our hardships and continue to love and serve the Lord, even in times of pain.
God bless you and keep you!
