Everything
we do, starts from within. How much of what you think or do is positive? Do you
listen intentionally? Do you love unconditionally? Do you forgive without
borders?
If you answer no to any of these questions, then you don’t
know freedom. You might be bound by negative, oblivious, cold hearted, unforgiving
chains. Everything you do starts within you. God says that we(humans) look at
the outer appearance, but God looks at the heart, and out of the heart are the
issues of life.
How you feel about yourself, situation, and/or
circumstances are all a matter of your perspective. Two people can have the
same exact terminal illness and have two different perspectives. One person
chooses to be happy and be at peace with what they cannot control, remain
faithful, humble, and resilient. The other person chooses to make everyone
else’s life hell because woe unto them.
No one wants to have a terminal illness, let’s get that
straight. Also, no one wants to lose a child(born or unborn), family member,
body part, marriage, job, and the list goes on. But we must choose to remain in
the present, forgetting those things which are behind us and straining toward
those things that are in our future. You cannot expect to move forward if your
tied down. Positive self-talk (and a daily devotion) is a great way to break
away from things that have you bound, internally. You must recondition your
heart to be able to follow out positive self-talk, listen intentionally, love
unconditionally, and forgive without borders.
What are some steps that you can take to be free? What
words can you change in your vocabulary that will be positive vs negative? How
can you become more in the present and looking forward to the future without
being held to the past?
